My Trip to Medford, OR in Photos!

From May 14-16, my hubby and I went to Medford, OR for my Uncle's wedding! We flew into Sacramento, CA and ended up driving 5 hours up to Medford. Kind of a long trip for only a couple of days, but it was so worth it! The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, the wedding was beautiful and so much fun, and being with my family was great!

Mt. Shasta

I had never seen Mt. Shasta before in my life. And, by all the pictures I took, I have a lot more on my camera too, you can probably tell that I was just blown away by it. Mt. Shasta was covered with snow with gorgeous green trees all around it. I hope I can go back sometime soon and maybe even camp around the area.
Miner Street - Yreka, CA

Before arriving in Medford, we made a pit stop in Yreka, CA - Miner Street. It's such a cute little town, with so many old buildings. I just had to take pictures of them! My mom and I also found a little thrift shop, Miner Street Antiques & Decor, that we spent some time looking through. I was tempted to buy a few things, but had no idea how I would get them home that I had to give up on the idea.

Medford, OR - Wedding Rehearsal

I don't know why I didn't take more pictures of the wedding ceremony and reception, but I just didn't get around to it. Mike & Molly's wedding was so beautiful and fun! They've been dancing for almost as long as they've been together (around 18 years), so the wedding ceremony and reception was full of dancing! The bridesmaids and groomsmen danced to "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie Cups for the precessional. Uncle Mike's daughter Kristin later sang an emotional, heartfelt, and otherwise appropriate song, "At Last" by Etta James. At the end of the ceremony, they did a dance skit to a remixed version of Dirty Dancing's "Time of My Life" and a Black-Eyed Peas song. Needless to say, it was awesome!

Weed Souvenir Shop
On the way home from Medford, OR we stopped in Weed, CA. We stopped in Weed mainly because of the name of the town. Between the five of us, we had way too many jokes flying back-and-forth. So, we stopped in this little souvenir shop and bought a few things. Ray bought a Weed, CA shot glass with a picture of Mt. Shasta in the background and my sister bought an I Love Weed, CA tee shirt.

All in all we had an awesome three days traveling around Northern California and Southern Oregon. I can't wait to go back!

What's Going On in My Garden?

Hey everyone! It's been a LONG time since I've posted on blogger and a lot has happened! Between trips, weddings, volunteer training at the WRMCSN, and getting in a car accident...I've been pretty busy. I will post on all these events soon, but today I want to fill you in on what's been going on in my garden. Okay, most of you already know that my husband and I had planter beds put in our backyard and side yard(one for flowers and the other for fruits & veggies). You can check out our Backyard Renovation here. When Ray and I planted our fruits & veggies, we didn't anticipate being full-fledged farmers right off the bat. We figured a tomato or two here and there and maybe a strawberry once in awhile. Nothing major. Well, this past month has been so exciting for us to see all that's been growing in our garden! Every day it seems like our produce is getting larger and that there are more and more veggies growing! Last week, we picked our first hearty red tomato (so delicious by the way), and there are 25 more on the way! We have 4 corn cobs growing and 6 green/red bell peppers growing as well! We never anticipated this happening at all. I can't wait to see more strawberries, blueberries, and cucumbers to pop up too! Check out my crop!

What's growing in my flower bed?
I planted mixed wildflower seeds about two months ago and some of them are finally starting to grow! I should have kept the original seed packets because I have no idea what kind of wildflowers are growing.  It's kind of like a birthday surprise...you don't know what you're gonna get. Luckily, there are flower identifiers online, but I think my seedlings are still at the early stages, so it's hard to identify. Any ideas what kind of flowers these plants could be?

26th Anniversary Shareholders in Life Fundraising Banquet for WRMCSN

On Friday March 18th, my hubby, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and I attended the 26th Anniversary Shareholders in Life Fundraising Banquet and Silent Auction hosted by the Women's Resource Medical Center of Southern Nevada at the Rio Pavilion Convention Center. The WRMCSN provides women with education and resources they need to make a choice for life. The night was awesome! The night started with a silent auction from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with the dinner starting right at 6:30. The food was delicious, a three course meal complete with: rolls, salad, steak, dessert, and coffee! But what was even better was the guest keynote speaker, Carol Everett who started at around 8 that evening.
