Field Trip to Mckee Ranch

Last Wednesday, I started volunteering at Lake Mead Christian Academy in my best friend,Brittney's kindergarten classroom and on Friday they had their first field trip. My friend Brittney needed a lot of help so she asked if I could volunteer, which I replied with an absolute, "Yes!" Their field trip was to Mckee Ranch in Las Vegas, NV. To be honest, I had never heard of this place in all my eighteen years of living here. So I was excited to see what this place was all about. When we got there, the whole ranch was decorated for fall and Halloween. There were pumpkins everywhere! There were also lots of animals: goats, horses, mini horses, turkey, rabbits, chickens, and sheep to name a few. We had so much fun watching the little kiddos running around and riding all the animals. And, seeing this ranch definitely put me in the fall spirit...again! I thought I'd share some pictures from our mini trip. Have a great weekend everyone!

By the way, this picture is my favorite!

Fall Crafts: Collage and Sign

I found this craft site, Craftideas.info, a month ago and found this Fall Inchies project. Again, I thought that I would try to tackle this project. Here it is!

For this project you will need:
-1 Canvas
-Acrylic paint (optional)
-Extra scrap booking and sewing scraps
-Rafia (optional)
-Faux flowers (optional)
-1 picture frame 11x14 (optional)

For the complete directions for this project check out Craftideas.info!

A few weeks ago my best friend Brittney and I, attended Lanier Creations' craft night. With the help of Melinda Lanier, that night we made a Trick or Treat sign using vinyl lettering. Here's how it turned out.

This DIY project cost me only $10! This covered the cost for the vinyl lettering, wood, orange paint, and ribbon.

I hope these crafts have inspired you to create. Happy crafting!

Fall Crafts: Butterfly Wreath

Back in February, I found this DIY project on Elsie's blog and I decided that I would make one of my own. Well, eight months later I finally finished my project. Here's my butterfly wreath:

Hanging proudly on my front door!

For this project you will need:
-1 foam wreath (size of your choice)
-Yarn (color of your choice)
-Decorative Butterflies
-Hot glue gun
-Magnets

{I added magnets onto the back of the wreath so that it would not only give the wreath more weight, but also to help it stick better to the door. The foam wreath is very light weight, I don't want it to blow away! Magnets are not necessary for this project however.}

For the DIY project instructions check out Elsie's blog.
Happy Crafting!

Fall is Here!

According to this site, the first day of fall was on September 22 of this year. However, when you've lived in Las Vegas, NV for almost 18 years of your life you soon realize that the coolness of fall and the changing color of leaves doesn't usually happen until a month or two later. These past few weeks in Las Vegas the temperature has been absolutely beautiful! In fact, this week temperatures will be in the low to mid 70's. Hallelujah! While the trees haven't begun to change the color of their leaves yet, this beautiful weather has definitely put me in the fall mood!

Here are some beautiful pictures that have put me in the fall mood and I hope they will do the same for you. Tomorrow, I will post some recent fall crafts that I have done to further put you in the fall spirit!
