My Trip to Medford, OR in Photos!

From May 14-16, my hubby and I went to Medford, OR for my Uncle's wedding! We flew into Sacramento, CA and ended up driving 5 hours up to Medford. Kind of a long trip for only a couple of days, but it was so worth it! The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, the wedding was beautiful and so much fun, and being with my family was great!

Mt. Shasta

I had never seen Mt. Shasta before in my life. And, by all the pictures I took, I have a lot more on my camera too, you can probably tell that I was just blown away by it. Mt. Shasta was covered with snow with gorgeous green trees all around it. I hope I can go back sometime soon and maybe even camp around the area.
Miner Street - Yreka, CA

Before arriving in Medford, we made a pit stop in Yreka, CA - Miner Street. It's such a cute little town, with so many old buildings. I just had to take pictures of them! My mom and I also found a little thrift shop, Miner Street Antiques & Decor, that we spent some time looking through. I was tempted to buy a few things, but had no idea how I would get them home that I had to give up on the idea.

Medford, OR - Wedding Rehearsal

I don't know why I didn't take more pictures of the wedding ceremony and reception, but I just didn't get around to it. Mike & Molly's wedding was so beautiful and fun! They've been dancing for almost as long as they've been together (around 18 years), so the wedding ceremony and reception was full of dancing! The bridesmaids and groomsmen danced to "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie Cups for the precessional. Uncle Mike's daughter Kristin later sang an emotional, heartfelt, and otherwise appropriate song, "At Last" by Etta James. At the end of the ceremony, they did a dance skit to a remixed version of Dirty Dancing's "Time of My Life" and a Black-Eyed Peas song. Needless to say, it was awesome!

Weed Souvenir Shop
On the way home from Medford, OR we stopped in Weed, CA. We stopped in Weed mainly because of the name of the town. Between the five of us, we had way too many jokes flying back-and-forth. So, we stopped in this little souvenir shop and bought a few things. Ray bought a Weed, CA shot glass with a picture of Mt. Shasta in the background and my sister bought an I Love Weed, CA tee shirt.

All in all we had an awesome three days traveling around Northern California and Southern Oregon. I can't wait to go back!

Day 8: Places I've Traveled To

I love traveling! When I was growing up, my family and I went traveling every summer mainly to various parts of California, Nebraska, Minnesota, Oregon, Arizona, and Idaho. Since I've been married though, Raymond and I have been doing lots of traveling exploring different parts of our country and the world. For our honeymoon Raymond took me to Cancun, Mexico in 2008 (I'll post pictures of our trip to Cancun in a future post). In August of this year we went to Washington, D.C., my first time stepping foot on the east coast (I'll post pictures of this trip in a future post too)!

This fall we also went to Utah twice for camping/hiking weekend trips. We went to Snow Canyon, UT in September - very nice camp spot but I don't consider this truly camping because our campsite had electricity. Then October 1st and 2nd we went back to Zion National Park and camped and hiked through the Zion Narrows! Raymond and I have been to Zion National Park back in August of 2008, but we hiked some of the easier trails: Emerald Pools Trail, Weeping Rock, and Riverside Walk aka "Gateway to the Narrows." Hiking through the Zion Narrows was one of the craziest things I have ever done, but it was so worth it! The hike through the Narrows was about 16 miles in length, the majority of which was through water. Crazy I know! On Saturday, I survived 11 miles, falling down five times, rain, and wind. Sunday, was only 5 miles with 2 miles being on a paved hiking trail (Riverside Walk). At the end of the hike my body ached so bad, but the experience outweighed any pain I had. If you ever have the chance, I suggest you hike through the Zion Narrows. Here are some pictures of our trip to Zion.
