Kitchen & Laundry Room Organization

My kitchen cabinet and laundry room linen closet have been disorganized for quite awhile! It got so bad, that I became desperate to figure out a way to get organized instead of throwing items in the cabinet and hoping the magic organizing fairy would some how do it for me. Thanks to Pinterest, I found the blog Delightful Order where I found the solution to my organizing woes. She purchased bins from the Dollar Tree and organized all the items into the bins! How simple and easy is that! So, I decided to do the same. I began with tackling the kitchen cabinet first. I purchased my bins at Walmart for a buck each and then began organizing! (Sorry, I forgot to post 'before' pictures. I always forget to do that step of before and after segments. Oh well. Just picture my shelves without the bins and a whole lot messier! Like tossing stuff in the cabinet messy!)

I went to Better Homes and Gardens and downloaded free organizing printables, which I then laminated and tied it to the bins using extra red ribbon that I had. I labeled my bins the following: napkins, paper plates, plastic bags, paper cups, and plastic silverware.

After organizing the kitchen cabinet, the laundry room linen closet was next. I ended up going to the Dollar Tree for these bins!

I repeated the same process for creating my labels and like magic my linen closet was organized! I used the following labels for my laundry room bins: fitted sheets, hand towels, cleaning towels, towels, table wear, and cleaning products. Because my linen closet is rather large, I also store crafts and home decor in there as well. That's why I also included the following labels: candles, potpourri, and paint supplies.

I'm so glad that I finally got around to organizing my kitchen cabinet and linen closet. After getting things organized, I realized how much extra room I actually had and everything was so much neater. My next project is to organize my pantry. I'm planning to get my food storage at the Dollar Tree and I'm using the same free printables to label them. I will let you all know how that goes once I'm all finished.

Happy Organizing!

Recent Crafts

I've been doing A LOT of crafting, organizing, and decorating around my house lately. These are my favorite three things to do...probably way to much. Recently, Melinda Lanier from Lanier Household Creations had another craft day where we got to make items for the home. These crafts are super easy and so much fun to make. Here are my favorite wall-hangings that I made.
{16x20 plywood, white paint, black vinyl, Mod Podge-Glossy}
{6x24 plywood, white paint, black vinyl, Mod Podge-Glossy}
{12x12 plywood, 6x6 plywood piece for center, blue paint, beige vinyl, Mod Podge-Matte, wood glue}
I've also been working on framing some of my family photos. I had gone to Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Walmart, and quite a few other places in hopes that I would find some cute wall collage frames. As it turned out, I had no such luck. I just didn't find any that I liked and that were affordable. So, I decided I would create my own from two 8x10 frames that I picked up on clearance at Michael's. They were on sale for $1.74 each from $4.99. I think that's a pretty good deal!

I grabbed my family pictures...

I used some scrapbook paper that I had lying around for the background...

I grabbed my photo glue, ribbon, stickers, rub-ons, & scissors...

and whalla! My very own and personalized wall collage frames!

 I haven't decided where to hang my wall hangings and collage frames yet, but once I figure it out I will make sure to let you all know!

Have a wonderful day!
