Day Three: My First Love

After taking some time to think of My First Love, I had some trouble narrowing it down to just one. Three first loves instantly came to my mind at once, each with their own reasons.

My first love would definitely have to be my daddy.

He was the first man to love me unconditionally, teach me, encourage me, and support me in everything I do. He was there for every graduation, dance recital, and football game. He worked hard everyday, putting in overtime up the ying-yang to provide for his family to make sure we had everything we needed. He listened to me, cared for me, and while he faced battles of his own in life, I forgave him no matter what and showed him the same love and respect. My dad will always be my first love and I will forever be Daddy’s Little Girl.

My TRUE first love is my husband, Raymond Morgan.

Raymond was my first REAL boyfriend, first kiss, first man I loved aside from my daddy, and first man I married. We originally met when I was about five years old and he was around seven. Both of our mothers worked in the same church office together at Green Valley United Methodist Church in Henderson, Nevada. Raymond’s family was always moving between the Las Vegas area and San Diego, CA and it wasn’t until the summer of 2003 before my freshman year of high school that Raymond and I met again. We met on a Friday evening, at a Vacation Bible School that our church was holding and I knew right away that this boy was The One. On October 18, 2003 Raymond took me to his homecoming as his date. From that point on we have been together since. He have watched each other grow, cried and laughed with one another, and learned much from each other. We always knew that we were going to be together, that God had brought us together, and that He had a plan for our relationship from the very beginning. Upon my graduating from high school, Raymond proposed on our 4-year anniversary of being together on October 18, 2007 and we married on May 30, 2008. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves the Lord more than myself, is a hard worker, protector, loving, and is sweet in so many ways. Raymond will always be my first and only True love.

My Ultimate and Everlasting love is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

In 2002, at an Acquire the Fire youth conference, I met my Ultimate and Everlasting love. I had always gone to church, I pretty much was born and raised in church, but it wasn’t until this moment that I entered into a relationship with God and made Jesus my Lord and Savior. I realized that I was a sinner and that no work of my own would save me. Only by the blood of Jesus does He wash away sins, putting an end to the penalty and power of sin, and one day the presence of sin. I put my faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior and His sacrifice on the cross and through grace I was saved. Jesus’ death on the cross for my, yours, and all of humanity’s sin was the ultimate sacrifice out of the greatest and highest form of love, an Agape love. He died for me so that I can have a relationship with Him, be transformed into His image by Him living in and through me, bring glory to God, lead others to Him, and truly live. The same is true for you.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
